Feel the thrill of swimming in open water by joining this SwimBritain event on Sunday 1^st September. It’s a great chance to swim at our brand new open water venue in Blenheim Palace’s Great Lake. You’ll need to be aged 16+ to take part. So what are you waiting for? Sign up, pack your wetsuit and goggles and get ready to take on this truly unique opportunity.

Session 1 timings

• Registration closes at: Midday
• The Competition Area and Dunc Zone opens at: 11:45
• The Competition Area for check in closes at: 12:10
• The Blenheim session starts at 12:15

Session 2 timings

• Registration closes at: 15:30
• The Competition Area and Dunc Zone opens at: 15:15
• The Competition Area for check in closes at: 15:40
• The Blenheim session starts at 15:45

You should aim to arrive at Blenheim 45-60 minutes before this time, to allow for registration, warm ups and the all-important water safety briefing! It is important that you decide before arrival which order you will swim in, so you know who will wear which colour swim hat to wear!

Make sure you print off your email notification to show at the Hensington Gate entrance, off Oxford road to guarantee your free entry to the venue.

In your Bag

As well as your wetsuit, towels and goggles, you should bring a full water bottle to help keep hydrated (water will also be provided). Please also remember to bring appropriate clothing to keep warm. We also highly recommend a pair of flip flops for between swims! Please remember this event is wetsuit compulsory.

Changing and baggage

There will be a changing marquee onsite along with a baggage facility.

Keeping warm

There’ll be lots of foil blankets, hot drinks and keep warm kit and exercises in the competition area, but make sure you don’t forget plenty of layers (including hoodies, jackets, towels and flip flops).

Keeping clean

There will be plenty of showers for you to get rid of that lake water after your swim. Also, please ensure that you wash your hands thoroughly before eating.

Parking

There is car parking on site. Please follow the signage and event arrivals teams, who will direct you.
